With so much time at home with the kids, like any parent I was in need of some time to work and clean a little and so a little television seemed to be the obvious answer. We found a show called “Bluey” on Disney + and it’s so adorable. It focuses on family connection and silly fun. It is about two Blue Heeler sisters, Bluey and Bingo as well as their parents Bandit and Chilli.
Finally, we found a show that I don’t feel guilty about watching. Managing emotions can be difficult for little kids and Bluey helps them navigate how to express themselves and have fun. The show is wonderfully in tune with the social and emotional psychology of 4-6 year olds. The bonus is that it even gives parents ideas on how to play and be fun with their kids.
Another great way we reinforce the things we learn on Bluey is expressing the story through imaginative play. Moose Toys has created adorable toys to go along with the show. There are Bluey plush stuffies and toy figures for Bluey, and her family. A great way to reinforce the fun lessons they have learned and take part in imaginative play. We’ll create the situations on the show with the figures and the kids work them out themselves with the toys.
We have the Bluey Heeler 4WD Family Vehicle which goes great with the Family Figures Pack. These two together make a great gift for any Bluey fan. I like to tie a plush around the ribbon on the gift instead of a bow, spending $5 on a bow seems crazy to me when any kid would much rather have a toy.
Adeline’s favorite of the toy series is Bluey’s Park Playset which has a slide and a swing for the figures to play on. She goes into her imaginative play world and comes up with the cutest stories as to what Bluey and her friends are up to that day.
We brought these adorable toys down to the beach and they have been such a lifesaver giving them something to play with while on vacation. Their favorite thing to do is play with the figures while they watch the show. The characters have Australian accents so listening to your kids impersonating them is a real treat. You can find the “Bluey” toys on www.moosetoys.com and stream the show on Disney.+
